A Message from Ruth Colvin
Dear Friends, I personally appreciate your support of Literacy CNY, as do all the students who are continually learning (I'm now teaching a new student too, a Chinese young lady, 37, a housekeeper at Upstate, who is working to upgrade her English).
I'm asking some of you who I know understand the importance of reading and writing, speaking and understanding English if you'd click this link to vote for LiteracyCNY with the hopes of their getting a donation of $1500 (we need it).
At the CNY "40-under 40" event, the Business Journal will be recognizing a CNY non-profit, asking for votes, and will give a donation of $1500 to the winner.
LiteracyCNY is overwhelmed with new students (most under 40), we have over 80 on the waiting list and are presently teaching over 500. LitÇNY has been the #1 literacy group in NYS, and this donation could mean we can help even more students.
I'd appreciate your vote for LiteracyCNY (and passing it on) by checking on this link and writing "LiteracyCNY." The deadline is Nov. 12. THANKS - and keep reading. Ruth Colvin
